INTERDIT À LA VENTE « Fille à l'ours en peluche. » 58x65cm huile/toile 2013

The portrait becomes a space in which the boundaries of identity, memory, and the human inner world are explored. The visual lightness of the classical composition intertwines with psychological depth, creating a multilayered reflection on childhood experience and the traces it leaves within the consciousness of adulthood.

The teddy bear held in the girl’s hands, complemented by delicate lace details and harmoniously echoing the tone of her dress, becomes an important compositional focal point. At once embodying the fragility of childhood and the persistence of memory, it evokes reflections on the impermanence of time and on the childhood experiences that we continue to carry with us into adulthood.

The girl’s gaze, directed away from the viewer toward an unseen space, creates a distinct sense of inward distance. It becomes a reference to the realm of subjective experience—to the deeper layers of human consciousness that can never be fully accessible to the external observer. The portrait thus reveals a tension between what a person allows the world to see and the personal experiences that remain concealed within their inner world.

The work invites reflection on the boundary between outwardly visible identity and the inner world, where memories, emotions, and the artifacts of childhood continue to reside.
